Batter up! It’s time for our annual family and friends beep baseball game. Anyone visually impaired can enjoy America’s favorite pastime with beeping baseballs and beeping bases. In the first half of the day, we will move through the practice stations, which include catching grounders, running bases, batting off a tee, and live pitching from Iowa Reapers beep baseball team members. Then it’s time for a game with all players, sighted or visually impaired, wearing sleep shades to even the playing field. Plus, pizza for lunch. This event is always a home run for all ages and vision levels!

Adaptive Sports Specialist, Mike Messerole, gives a visually impaired teen some pointers on batting. He is holding a bat in his hands, lined up with the tee and ball. A sighted little league player watches them practicing.
